It’s eerie, sometimes, how time flies and that is especially true when considering that the annual McAdam Pumpkin Party is almost here once again.
On Saturday, October 24th, the McAdam Nursery & Garden Center at 2001 Des Plaines Ave. in Forest Park will provide a variety of fun activities, free treats and more for the entire family.
The event begins at Noon and goes until 3 p.m. and will include face painting, pumpkin painting, story-telling, music and balloons. McAdam will also offer significant discounts on perennials, rhododendrons, azaleas, select evergreens and roses, among other items.
In addition, McAdam professionals will be on hand to give tips on how to winterize your garden and so families can learn what they can still plant.
“October is a great time to landscape, since plants have often been growing in the same containers all summer, so they’re full-sized and ready to plant,” says Scott McAdam Jr., McAdam’s horticulturist. “Also, it helps new plantings to have as many as six to eight months to establish before the summer’s heat arrives to stay.”
The Nursery & Garden Center is about a half-mile south of Roosevelt Road, on Forest Park’s southern edge. For more information, call 708-771-2299 or visit www.mcadamlandscaping.com.
